Golf has been a very important part of my life and it is something that I would like to continue into my career. My dream job would be to be the director of public relations for the Golf Channel located in Orlando. For the past couple years it has been a job that I am very passionate about and something I would love to do. I am planning on doing an internship over the summer so hopefully I can get my foot in the door so I can eventually get my dream job.

History of PR

Public Relations is said to have started in America and public relations was first found in the form of publicists who specialized in promoting circuses, theatrical performances, and other public events. In the United States many early public relations practices were developed in support of railroads. In fact many scholars believe that the first appearance of the term "public relations" appeared in the 1897 Year Book of Railway Literature. Later practitioners of public relations were recruited if they had journalism backgrounds.
